Unaccompanied child

Unaccompanied children are only carried on direct flights of the airline. The number of unaccompanied children on the flight is limited.

Children aged (the child's age is determined on the day of commencement of transportation) are transported as unaccompanied children on flights within Russia:

  • from 6 to 12 years old

  • from 12 to 16 years old, the service «Unaccompanied child 12+». The escort service at the request of parents, guardians (trustees) can be provided for children over 12 years old.

Unaccompanied children can be checked in for a flight only at the check-in counter at the departure airport, this will allow our staff to take care of your child during all formalities at the departure and arrival airports.

ATTENTION! In the event that the transportation of an unaccompanied child is planned on an international route, only the child's legal representatives can deliver such a child to the departure airport and check him/her in for the flight: parents, adoptive parents, guardians, trustees or representatives of the child under a notarized power of attorney from the child's legal representatives.

Cost and registration of the service “Unaccompanied child”

The cost of the "Unaccompanied Minor" service is 5000 rubles;

The "Unaccompanied Minor" service can only be arranged at ticket offices of accredited agencies;

Online arrangement of the "Unaccompanied Minor" service is PROHIBITED.

Conditions for the transportation of unaccompanied children
  • Unaccompanied minors are children aged 6 to 12 years who are traveling without a parent or guardian and are not in the care of any other passenger..

  • Unaccompanied minors under 6 years of age are not permitted to travel.

  • Applications for services for the transportation of unaccompanied minors must be submitted no later than 3 days/72 hours before departure.

  • Transportation of unaccompanied minors is permitted only with a confirmed booking and a confirmed SSR request for the transportation of unaccompanied minors from JSC "ALROSA Airlines".

  • To accept responsibility for an unaccompanied minor, JSC ALROSA Airlines must submit a "Application for the transportation of an unaccompanied minor" (Appendix No. 1), completed by parents or guardians when booking and issuing tickets in the presence of a representative or authorized agent of JSC ALROSA Airlines.


The application is completed in 5 copies (or 1 copy (original) and 4 of its copies):

  1. The first copy (original), signed by the parents / guardians and the representative of the Airline / handling company at the airport of departure, remains with the parents / guardians of the child.

  2. The second copy, signed by the representative / handling company and the senior flight attendant, remains with the representative of the Airline / handling company at the airport of departure.

  3. The third copy, signed by the senior flight attendant and the representative of the Airline / handling company at the airport of arrival, remains with the crew.

  4. The fourth copy, signed by the representative of the Airline / handling company at the airport of arrival and the parents / guardians / meeting persons, remains with the representative of the Airline / handling company at the airport of arrival.

  5. The fifth copy is given with the child and other documents to the person meeting the child at the airport of arrival.


  • The child's identity documents (birth certificate, passport), the Application for transportation, the baggage tag for the duration of the flight are handed over to the senior flight attendant.

  • In 5 copies of the "Application for transportation of an unaccompanied child" the columns "Information on transportation of an unaccompanied child" are filled in, which indicate:

— Full name of the child, flight details, age, gender, residential address, telephone, date and flight number;
— Full name of the person seeing off at the departure airport;
— Full name of the person meeting at the destination airport.

  • In the absence of the Application form, the representative of the Airline / handling company provides information on the rules for transporting an unaccompanied child, the address, working hours and contact phone numbers of the Airline office to receive the Application.

  • Unaccompanied children are transported only to those airports where there are representatives of JSC ALROSA Airlines / handling company.

  • Unaccompanied children are transported only on direct flights of JSC "ALROSA Airlines", to the first point of boarding.

  • Unaccompanied children are transported only in the economy class cabin and are paid at 100% of the corresponding normal fare. The use of children's and other discounts is not provided.

  • When booking, a request for an unaccompanied child must be entered with full information about the person meeting (full name, degree of relationship, address, contacts) according to the format in the system.

  • Unaccompanied children aged 6 to 12 years are accepted for carriage on all of JSC ALROSA Airlines' own flights, provided that:

— they are accompanied to the departure airport by their parents/legal representatives or their authorized persons;
— they are met at the destination airport by their parents/legal representatives or their authorized persons;
— the parents/legal representatives have completed the procedures and formalities related to the transportation;
— the parents/legal representatives have paid for the child's transportation in accordance with clause 10 Rules for the air transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo of JSC "ALROSA Airlines".

  • Unaccompanied children are accepted for transportation if they have:

— a valid ticket;
— an identity document: birth certificate/passport;
— an application for transportation of an unaccompanied child;
— a medical certificate on the child's health (if necessary).

  • If the child is not met at the destination airport, all costs associated with the return delivery of the child to the point of departure, including the costs of the child's accommodation and meals at the destination airport (if necessary), shall be borne by the child's parents or guardians (sending / meeting the child).

  • The carrier shall not be liable for removing a child from a flight due to incorrectly completed documents. The carrier limits the number of unaccompanied children transported on one flight. No more than four unaccompanied children may be registered on one flight.

Seats in the aircraft cabin for unaccompanied children
  • boarding is prohibited at emergency and reserve exits;

  • possibility of continuous observation and care during the flight by a designated flight attendant.

Unaccompanied minor services at departure airport
  • The check-in agent, based on the data from the Carrier's resource system or the check-in system (flight PNL), reserves a seat for the unaccompanied child on board the aircraft in accordance with the seating list, which ensures the possibility of observation and care during the flight by the designated flight attendant.

  • Upon departure of the flight, the representative of the Airline / handling company of the airport of departure informs the representative of the Airline / handling company of the airport of arrival about the presence of an unaccompanied child by available means of communication: telephone, e-mail.

  • The escort must remain with the unaccompanied child until the start of boarding at the airport, then until the actual departure of the aircraft.

  • The Airline representative / handling company, upon meeting and boarding, accepts the child from the escort, signs the Application, and bears personal responsibility for the child until handing him/her over to the responsible flight attendant.

Services for unaccompanied children in case of delay/rescheduling
  • In case of flight irregularity (delay, departure change), children accepted for transportation are under the responsibility of JSC "ALROSA Airlines".

  • In case of significant departure delay (during passengers' disembarkation from the aircraft and their exit from the sterile zone), a representative of JSC "ALROSA Airlines" / the handling company must take measures to inform those seeing them off and hand over the children to them for the duration of the delay.

Services for unaccompanied minors upon arrival
  • Upon arrival at the destination airport, the unaccompanied child is handed over by the responsible flight attendant to the representative of the Airline / handling company against signature in the "Application for transportation of an unaccompanied child".

  • After accepting the child, the representative of the Airline / handling company bears personal responsibility for the child until handing him/her over to the person meeting him/her.

  • A representative of JSC ALROSA Airlines / handling company has the right to hand over the child only to the person specified in the "Application for transportation of an unaccompanied child" as "Meeting Person".

  • Upon receipt of information about the arrival of an unaccompanied child, a representative of the Airline / handling company accepts the unaccompanied child from the responsible flight attendant with the accompanying documents, and arranges for the child to be handed over to the meeting persons.

  • The procedure for handing over a child includes:

— an audible announcement of the need for persons meeting the child to arrive in the arrivals hall;
— checking the documents for compliance with the surname of the person meeting the child indicated in the application for transportation of the child, or the surname of another person meeting the child, declared by the parents (guardians) orally or in writing;
— handing over the child and accompanying documents to the person meeting the child.

  • In the absence of a meeting person, a representative of JSC "ALROSA Airlines" / handling company:

— carries out all possible measures to find meeting persons;
— places the child for rest and meals;
— contacts the child's parents / guardians to determine further actions.

IMPORTANT!!! PARENTS / LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES SENDING AN UNACCOMPANIED CHILD ARE REQUIRED TO WAIT FOR THE AIRCRAFT TO TAKE OFF AT THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT
